Thursday 7th January. One week into the challenge and its been a very interesting week to say the least. Today, itself has been much of an muchness, as in nothing of any real note happened with regard to the challenge. Thursdays are never a big football day anyway; oh! unless you follow a team in the Europa League!!!
I bought the Alistair McGowan book last night on Amazon, so I await the arrival of that. Should be an interesting read, but from what I read of the preview he's more of a fanatic than I am. Yes, I check the results from the Premier League down to League Two; however I'm not concerned about the attendances like he is! I will do a basic calculation of what football means to the Economy; after this weekends matches.
I found out that to remove yourself from football in this country you've got to practically live in isolation, not work and definitely not access any form of media. I think I should have moved to a cave in Afghanistan for this challenge!
I've decided to cut off SkySports 1 today and will give Sky a call tomorrow; to do so. If you work for Sky please don't try and change my mind.

Who u think ur Kidding? U can watch games online so who needs sky. Kwame
ReplyDeletewell done on the geeting rid of sky sports. you'll feel it as the year goes on though. how about taking up chess? not as a football substitute - but just as an additional pasttime?
ReplyDeleteKwame - Your right, I could watch matcjes online, go to a pub etc etc, but then I'd only be cheated myself. I can't cut my Internet subscription because others in my household use it. Thanks for your support!
ReplyDeletePuregold - that's a good idea. I was proposed to take up 26 new adventures/challenges for the year, so I'll add Chess, I have tried it before though. Any ideas on how you can learn it quickly. The other challenges are:
ReplyDelete1)Play squash
2)Design a house
3)Golf
4)Skiing
5)Buy/Repair/Sell a salvage car
6)Make £500 on ebay (Selling faulty goods)
7)Play Chess
All other suggestions welcome!
