Yesterday I was engaged in a conversation about the happenings of Friday night and what happened with regards to the match. I was told that the reason for the blog was to record the details of the challenge on a day to day basis and say what has happeneded. That I cannot be illusive and not say what happened with regards to the match. I think the individual had a valid argument. The individual wasn't impressed that I avoided saying either way; however for some reason they felt to sabotage my challenge by shouting out that Chelsea beat Arsenal. So what did happen on Friday? here goes...
On Friday, when I entered the barber shop my first thought when I saw the game being played on tv was 'dilemna' do I stay or do I go? I needed to get my haircut there and then because I didn't have time to do it on Saturday. I couldn't stay in the barber shop and not watch it! I felt it was like fate to be there, as it was the game I hunted for so badly a couple of days before on Virgin. Now its in front of me how can I not watch it?
I thought about the legitimacy of the challenge and wether or not I should mention it on the blog but I thought if I didn't I'd only be deceiving myself and plus its not fair on the people who are genuinely interested and following the challenge. So now everyone knows!!!
But watching it felt great, actually it was orgasmic! - forget the German commentary that didn't matter, I loved watching it, but hated feeling out of the loop. Why wasn't Ferdinand and Vidic playing?, why was Valencia on the bench?, he was flying in December now he's a sub? However I didn't watch all of it, I left after 80 minutes.
Where does that leave the challenge?, well I still think its on, as I feel like a victim of circumstance and I didn't deliberately go somewhere to watch the match. I still haven't checked for scores, watched a live match. I genuinely know nothing about what's happening in the Championship, League 1, League 2 (Apart from the fact Dagenham and Redbridge lost on Saturday) and La Liga.
I'll tell you how I know that Dagenham and Redbridge lost its genuine. As the result of a competition we held through my work, the winning prize was some complementary tickets to watch Dagenham and Redbrige play. The game we had chosen for the winners to watch took place this weekend and as staff we were going to go. However because of this challenge I declined my ticket and was told this morning by my manager that its a good job we never went as they lost!
So is the challenge null and void? Let me have your comments...

It's good that you finally decided to tell everyone the truth. Well done (for d honesty)! and for that alone, i'd say the challenge is still on.....
ReplyDeleteSaying that, i think you need to clarify the rules of the challenge, and prob try sticking to them. i know it's hard but you need to stay away (as much as possible) from anything football...
